{Greens: Take One...}

{Apologies for the low quality photo.}

I did it! I made my first greens smoothie...and LOVED it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Here are things I discovered after my first attempt:

  • {Sweetums} Next time I'm going to add a bit more fruit, 1 cup was not enough for my taste.
  • {Energy} After a half glass I am buzzing. It has been a long time since I have felt this kind of natural energy. So for the smoothie skeptics, I promise you the energy is there!
  • {Nut Butter} For this glass I used peanut butter, but I think I added a bit too much. I am considering trying almond butter for the next attempt.
  • {Milk} All we had in our refrigerator today was skim milk, I'll be going to the store to get vanilla soy milk. I think it will help with the consistency of the smoothie.
Overall, I would say this was a positive first experience and I cannot wait to tweek the recipe to try again tomorrow!!

Currently enjoying this folky goodness. Sweet music for the soul.

Green With Energy

Lately I've been looking into different cleanses. There are so many! There are soup cleanses, juice cleanses, detoxifying smoothies...the list could go on and on.
One I am particularly fond of trying is the green smoothies. The source of vitamins and fiber is essential for everyday health purposes, but the energy you get (from what I have read) is indescribable. That was the real selling point for me.
Trying to keep up with a newborn's schedule without caffeine is nearly impossible, so here's hoping this works.

Office Space

I am currently lusting for a beautiful & organized work space. Our current home is a bit too small to have a room dedicated to the space, but these are lovely inspirations. I especially adore the closet office, but definitely with the chic decor of the other spaces.

Now that my days are chopped up into hour and a half intervals, there is only so much to achieve. So I'm keeping it simple. My needs in life have simplified (due to Baby Rem's schedule consuming mine) to the few things pictured below, especially the EOS lip balm....#FavStatus.

{No need to explain, right? It's incredible!}

{Baby Rem currently falls asleep to Chandler's hilarious jokes & sarcasm.}

{When you have three minutes to prep for the rest of your day, kukui oil will save any curly girl's hair.}

And Something To Look Forward To....

{LILLY PULITZER FOR TARGET!!! --Even if the pretentious rich girls of the Upper East Side look down on us basic, poor bishes that can only afford Lilly because she is now at Target. Rude.}

New Year, New Chances

I am very much so looking forward to 2015. Our sweet boy finished last year perfectly which ultimately set us up for the New Year quite well.

I am typically not a New Year Resolution kind of girl, but this different. For the first time in awhile there feels like there might be a little magic in the air, like maybe this is MY year. So I thought about it and here are my resolutions for 2015...

1. {To Be The Best Momma I Can} Our boy deserves the best from me, not the generic "best mom" status, but just my personal best. If it means eating better, meditating more, drinking more water, etc. I'll do it. Baby R deserves the absolute greatest and I intend on giving it to him.

2. {Getting Organized} seriously organized!! Currently we live in a small, one bedroom apartment. This would be tolerable, except there is no system to the madness and before we move I would like to set us up for success. Purging, cleaning, and getting our current home organized is the way to do so.
**{If anyone knows of a fantastic organization blog, please drop the link in the comments}**

3. {Blogging} Staying consistent with posting, looking for new ways to stay inspired, and keeping up to date are my promises to you all. This blog might have a tiny following currently, but we have a lot of potential here. Hopefully by 2016 we can grow to be mighty.

4. {Friends} Yes, I plan on watching every episode currently streaming on Netflix. Though, ultimately what I had in mind was being a better friend. Since having Baby R two old friendships have rekindled. I intend on growing, nurturing, and investing in these friends because these people where there for me at a very scary time. To me, those are worthwhile friendships that deserve another chance.

Now that I am no longer pregnant I have noticed a dramatic change in my skin. I noticed it the morning after I delivered, my hormones had gone crazy over night. My hormone change was probably the only thing I had prepared myself for.

Thank goodness for getting educated on Murad because it really did save my skin.

Below are a few products that are helping save my skin. Don't let the individual lines fool you, each has something unique to offer regardless of their initial impression.

{Renewing Cleansing Oil: This is a gentle cleanser that draws out the dirt while leaving your skin soft. I generally use it as a pre-cleanser because it helps start the process of smoothing your skin.}

{AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser: This gem is the epitome of all cleansers. With the powers of salicylic, lactic, and glycolic acids it polishes the skin while improving cell turnover. The skin is insanely smooth after cleansing.}

{Rapid Collagen Infusion: Being a 20 something it might seem crazy to start using collagen, but in a personal opinion now is a very optimal time. Collagen builds off of preexisting collagen. I am still relatively young and coming off of some intense hormones that made me look my best, there is no better way to keep that glow than with this product.}

{Age Balancing Moisturizer: The name may fool you, but this product packs a punch. It is incredible for hormone imbalanced people. The line it derives from is all about adjusting those devilish hormones, so this was definitely my life saver postpartum.}
